Employment Specialists

An Employment Specialists assist individuals with disabilities to prepare for, find, and keep competitive employment.  This is a community based program providing vocational services to students and adults with disabilities.  ESM’s Employment Specialists works with local schools, state and federal agencies to ensure a smooth transition into community employment.  Employment Specialists are dynamic individuals who have a go and get attitude and can develop opportunities for people with a variety of disabilities.  These individuals need to be hard working, enjoy working as part of a team, and enjoy working with different community businesses.  ESM’s Employment Specialists must always present themselves in a professional manner have the ability to make cold calls as well as job skill coach.

 As an employee of ESM it’s important to be flexible.  ESM serves individuals around the clock.  Consumers can have a variety of hours from Day shift, evening shifts, and overnight shifts.  Weekends and Holidays are also important as ESM operates twenty four hours a day seven days a week.

Being dependable (showing up for work when scheduled) and punctual (being on time for your shifts) is extremely important because the consumers count on staff being there and this is important in building co-worker relationships.
